Sometimes spring skies can appear surprisingly cold. Winter skies out here are closer, more atmospheric (read fog and mist). As the sun gets a little stronger and tries to fight through the cloud, the skies look flinty to me. And the steel of the buildings glisten icily in the haze. A walk along the seawall is sometimes beautiful, sometimes brutally stark.
